Are you smarter than....

So for some reason I was watching 'Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader' last night. I only have one thing to say...

Oregon. Oregon borders California to the North. Flipping OREGON.

I know, I know, this is coming from someone who cheated on her states test...but that was in...when do you have states tests? Third grade?

Other quiz show thoughts:

On Jeopardy the other night we had the easiest final jeopardy answer in the history of EVER, basically what it amounted to was:

What does the word Megalosaurus mean?

Giant Lizard

If you'd made it onto Jeopardy and gotten that wrong then...yeah. Nobody got it wrong, so I didn't have anybody to laugh at. Humph.

In non-quiz show thoughts:

Doctor Who. <--that is all that is occupying my brain. Well, that and Gareth David-Lloyd's extremely flattering black T-shirt from the other week, but what's new?

Vacation next week! Maybe I'll see a movie and update with an exciting three word review? Hehe. Also on the docket: Recap for Midnight and Turn Left and the Stolen Earth. (hopefully!)

Testing!

Well, this blog has seen better days. I fear that I neglect the poor old girl, so from now on I will be posting my little Doctor Who Recaps. I started doing them for Torchwood over on the Message board, and people seem to like them (I think I may archive them here so they are easy to find)...and I don't have anything going on here, so I may as well.

I suppose I will also post any other passing thoughts I have about Entertaining things...We'll see how that goes.

In other news: Movable Type has been upgraded. I'm writing from the latest version which sucked to upgrade...I finally had to give up and install anew. Heh. It still wouldn't work because I did something monumentally stupid and didn't upload my images in binary mode. Haha! It's taken me two days to figure out what I did wrong.

Anyway, until next time.

New Musical Purchases

I don't know, maybe it's me being apathetic, or maybe it's my lack of 97x-age in my care and I don't listen enough at home, and my computer at work has no sound card...but...

I am feeling completely underwhelmed by everything that's coming out this year so far. Bah.

That being said...here are my new music Purchases:

Hüsker Dü * Warehouse: Songs and Stories

I love Hüsker Dü .

-------------
Pavement * Terror Twilight

--------------

New Order * Waiting for the Siren's Call

I'll just refer to this album as NO instead of the actual title. Because that's all I see when I look at the cover. It's almost detering.
---------------

Green Day * American Idiot

---------------

Yeah, I know the last one might not seem quite me, but if you think that, then you have no idea ;) Actually, I resisted as long as I could, but it passed the 3 songs tests. (Meaning I know for a fact that I like at least three songs on the album) And I haven't bought Music in such a long time because of the Aforementioned underwhelming, I just thought Why not? And why is freaking Best Buy the most expensive Outlet to buy Music around here? Has the world Gone mad?

Don't answer that.

Just a Quick Update

Here I am rockin' out to Hootie and the Blowfish...and...yeah, that's about it.

Speaking of Hootie and the Blowfish, what do you think of Darius Rucker pimpin' out Burger King. Burger King commercials don't make me wnat to go eat a hamburger anymore. They make me feel like I'm in some freaky alternate reality.

Yesterday we watched Raise Your Voice. Yes! Hillary Duff movies! Anyway, it wasn't horrible despite being Cliche, but we all know that I don't have discerning tastes when it comes to flicks. (Says the girl who is rockin' out to Hootie and the freakin' Blowfish.)

I also Picked up the Doves new album, for way too much at Borders. I almost picked up the Ash disk for the DVD too, but I decided to put a hold on that since Doves was way overpriced. (I was there and I wanted to buy something other than a card! Sue me.) Not that I wouldn't have snapped up Ash instead but I already downloaded the album from I-tunes. So I have the Tunes. That's what really matters, right? :)

By the way, Tim is way shorter than I imagined him to be. /obligatory comment about Tim Wheeler's height.

I miss 97x in my car sooo bad. I have to settle for 93 xrt (I think) here in Chicago. It's not so intollerable, I still prefer my CD collection however.

The End.
