I am too tired to figure it out, but the end of my countrycide recap keeps get getting cut off...So here is
Part One and the continuation:

So Jack has Mr. C at gunpoint and he's totally going to do away with him, but Gwen, being the conscious of the team cannot let that happen. Jack doesn't think they deserve to warnings...and Gwen...wants to question him, so she can understand why. Because "This" is too much. I don't know what "This" is.
Options for what "This" is:
A. Jack shooting a dude in cold blood
B. People murdering passers by and cooking them up in pies. (OMG, it's Sweeny Todd)
C. Working for Torchwood in general
D. Getting Shot by an innocent kid
E. All of the Above
??? Gwen needs to find herself a percocet and rest up.

While Gwen is worried about her own understanding of the situation, Tosh is worried about all the injured bleeding people lying around, because Jack didn't actually kill anybody. Gwen commands Owen to control the bleeding and call the police...and Jack looks like he's trying very hard to contain himself, whether in words or actions or both.

All she wants is an hour with the guy. I'm sure she can through to him.

Later, back at the inn. Jack still looks irate, and Gwen questions our favorite cannibal.

Or rather, they just have a three way staring contest.
Anyway, the story is that this Cannibalism that happens only once a decade has been passed down through the generations.

Gwen asks her favorite questions: Who are you? and Why? Mr. C wants to know why the hell she cares so damn much. (Because it's in her Job description!) Anyway, with all the weevils and bollocks and shit that she's seen since working for Torchwood, the whole murdering cannibal thing is the only shit she cannot understand.

He's not going to tell her and then Gwen gets all screamy and demanding on him, because she really needs to know. Jack puts a stop to this because it's really, really pointless, and Gwen's seeking answers to make herself feel better as far as I can tell.

He agrees to tell if he can whisper. Gwen is okay with that because she's totally desperate to know.
As for Why? Because it made him happy.

Sometimes it's better not knowing. Gwen will not learn this for many, many, many episodes yet.

Since we're about to veer into Gwen's headspace, I'll just take a little moment to say...until I made this recap It didn't register just how much Ianto got the crap beat of him this episode. That is all, back to your regularly scheduled Gwen.

Gwen sweeps past the guys not even looking for any comfort. Owen looks oddly concerned, and Jack still looks a little miffed.

Back at Gwen's humble abode, she can't get the last mission out of her head. Her voice over is telling us all about her plans pre-Torchwood...Good Job, Rhys babies and the like.

And then she met Torchwood...they've shown her amazing things, and shitty horrible things, they are changing her and she has nobody to talk to about it. Waaahhh. Oh, hey...where the heck is she anyway, this isn't the Williams/Cooper abode.

Well, she can share them with Owen now.

And the episode coems to a close with a little Owen/Gwen action. Good times. Good times.
